Project Description:
This Park and its Conference Center will fill a major gap as the only full-service park along the Columbia River between Portland and Fort Stevens. The facility will include a visitor's center, conference/training center with guest cabins, boat launch, campsites, and day-use facilities. In addition it will be an ideal place to learn about Lewis & Clark. The Park offers many of the natural features that Lewis & Clark witnessed. The area, forested by native trees, provides habitat for nearly 200 species of wildlife, including native salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon in the Columbia River. This project will be important for visitors as they "re-live" the Lewis & Clark expedition during and after the bicentennial. |
