Project Description:
Improve the parking facilities, pedestrian access, and informational signage in the vicinity of the Salt Works site, at the west end of Avenue U adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. The parking area is now graveled and access to the proposed reenactment site is not ADA-accessible. An improved trail and parking area would provide access to the reenactment site and parking within a reasonable distance from the historic Salt Works monument. Only limited on-street parking is currently available adjacent to the Salt Works site. |
Project Budget:

$75,700 |
Funded to Date: |
$0 |
Support:
The City would administer funds to complete the improvements. |
Project Status:
This would be surfacing an existing gravel parking lot. The whole project would have a very rapid turnaround time. |

Other Comments:
Total project costs could be reduced by selecting alternative surfacing materials; however, the proposal currently includes an exposed aggregate or patterned cobble finish in order to blend in with the surrounding cobble beach. Project ranked 7 of 9 in Clatsop County. |
