Project Description:
Through the bicentennial the NHOTIC will conduct programs to involve the Oregon Trail visitor in the Lewis & Clark story: 1) Interpretation - Programming revolving around L&C Corps of Discovery, trappers, traders. Acquisition of period props. Expanding existing university internships. 2) Program Development - Staffing (in-house & contractual), exhibit design & development, and funding for a touring exhibit among the Oregon Trail centers in Oregon, and potentially Washington and Idaho. 3) Curation/Collections Management - Facility enhancement. 4) Partnership Outreach - Radio PSAs, signing, promotion. 5) Support Materials - Maps & brochures. 6) Education Programming - Traveling trunks, educator's guide, pins, passports, etc. 7) Special L&C Events - Scholarly symposiums, and performances. |
