Project Description:
The Discovery Center and Museum, official interpretive center of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, is a 28,000-square foot complex housing a modest Lewis & Clark exhibit and interpretive trail leading to Rock Fort campsite. Bicentennial plans include hosting the National Park Service's Corps II program and installing a major Lewis & Clark exhibit with related programming. The existing water system cannot accommodate the high levels of manganese found in the water without requiring addition of a filtration system or back-up reservoir to avoid closing for repair work on the existing tank during this critical time. |
