Project Description:
Ft. Dalles Museum, the oldest museum in Oregon, is planning a transportation/office facility to house and displaying the antique vehicle collection under its custodial care and provide office space for its operations. The museum celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2005, the bicentennial of the first encampment of Lewis & Clark at Rock Fort. The facility will feature an interpretive display of modes of transportation used by the Lewis & Clark Expedition and transportation methods used by the Native Americans that greeted them. The collection will undergo restoration once the facility is procured. |
