Project Description:
Erect interpretive kiosk in City Park along with associated paving and parking. On October 19, 1805, the Lewis & Clark party camped on an island in the Columbia River at the site where the city of Irrigon is now located. Interpretive signs under the cover of the kiosk will commemorate that event and the positive interaction that occurred with Native Americans on that occasion. Approximately two blocks of frontage road, now gravel, will require paving along with parking and picnic areas on both sides of the kiosk. Design and construction can commence upon receipt of funding authorization.
