Project Description:
When Clark crossed Tillamook Head to see the whale, he had excellent views of Tillamook Rock, Bird Rocks, Sea Lion Rock, and Haystack Rock, now within the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge. In cooperation with Ecola State Park, the Service previously installed two large interpretive panels. This project would add a third panel describing the fish and wildlife habitat present when Clark arrived here. The Service also would install a 20'x15' deck with three interpretive panels describing the importance of fish and wildlife resources of the area, their protection and management, and the importance of Lewis & Clark to science. |
