Project Description:
Sherman County and its Historical Society and Museum will produce festive and historical celebrations in suitable parks to commemorate the passages of Lewis & Clark's Expedition along its Columbia River shores. Open to the public, the events, perhaps on two dates to commemorate the outbound and inbound expedition's travel, will comprise period music, demonstrations, scholarly programs, food, and educational hand-outs. The County and Society hope that interpretive signs, like those at Celilo Park, will be installed by Oregon State Parks at Deschutes State Park and by the Army Corps of Engineers at LePage Park on the John Day River as part of their projects. |
